Is anybody out there...

I just have to wonder does anyone actually read these blogs. There are millions of blogs out there. Does anyone really look at mine. I am pretty boring. The only real excitement that I have is my children. Lately my little Delaney has decided that she is going to be a stripper. She gets out of bed from her naps totally naked and runs around the house like a crazy person. Marie used to do the same thing when it was her turn to potty train. Laney actually did a real pee pee this weekend and I was so excited for her. I am so sick of paying for diapers. Although I do know that their wants do get more and more expensive. Oh well, I will not rant. If anyone reads this, please let me know so that I will continue. Otherwise, I will not bother.

Why torture Santa

OK, so we though we would try again. We have never managed to get our little ones on Santa's lap. Each year they say that they want to see him, so here is our "Santa Encounter" from yesterday. My little Natalee has been talking about seeing Santa for weeks now, so I thought we would take her yesterday after church. We all went to the mall to see the Jolly Man himself. John and I both asked Natalee repeatedly if this is what she wanted to do and each time she said, "Yes, I want to sit on Santa's lap and tell him what I want for Christmas." OK, so after waiting 45 minutes in the Santa line it was finally out turn. Even Delaney was excited. She ran to him a few times while other children were in his lap. OK, so it is time...Natalee and Delaney both walked up there on their on accord. Natalee got in his lap with no problem, and then it was like a light bulb went off in her head..."Holly Crap, this is really Santa! Where is my Dad" She got this look of worry all of sudden. In the mean time Delaney walked up to him and sat on his lap and it was at this point that I felt bad for Santa. It was obvious that we as parents enjoy torturing our children and Santa. I could tell that Santa had been forced to hold down a few too many children to get that perfect picture for Mom and Dad. Although Delaney went into a screaming tailspin Santa was willing to hold her that and let her scream for the sake of a picture. I told him that was OK. There was no need to torture him or my little one. Natalee continued to stay on his lap and did not speak a word. It was kind of funny. Well needless to say it was kind of awkward. Natalee did not have a melt down but she did seem to be star struck. "Holly cow, it is really him" seemed to be the look on her face. She would not talk to him or look at him. I think just sitting on his lap was good enough for her for right now. Oh well, we will try again next year. So I ask parents everywhere. STOP TORTURING SANTA! If you child screams when they sit on his lap do not force this poor man to hold them down just for a photo. If you really want to see your children screaming while sitting in Santa's lap then torture yourself and rent a suit, have your kid sit in your lap, pinch him or her really hard and then take the picture. Santa has been through enough!

House Drama

My goodness this has been a week. That is for sure. Thursday night the fridge died then Friday night the water heat died. The water heater is still not fixed, but quite frankly I am so burnt out over the whole thing that I just do not feel like typing the entire story. Please just pray for us as we go through this mess. Maybe we will be able to take a shower at our own home by Christmas, so if anyone wants to know what to get us for Christmas I can tell you that prayers would be lovely. We could really use some now!

My how they grow

My goodness. I cannot believe that we are 17 days away from Christmas. Natalee is getting so excited. This will be her 1st year of really getting into Christmas and really understanding what is going on. I recently uploaded some pictures of the girls on my computer and I am just amazed at how they are growing, so here are some for you enjoyment. I will have to get a better picture of Marie to post. I am going to try and take some pictures in front of the Christmas tree tonight. Wish me luck.

Thanksgiving

What am I thankful for this year. I am thankful for my wonderful and amazing children. They continue to surprise me each and every day. I am thankful to have landed such a wonderful man as a husband. John is so good to me and girls. I am so lucky to have a man that will help out around the house and with the children without me getting mad. By this time next year he will be back in the military and that will be an all new adventure. I am thankful to be able to continue on our get out of debt journey. I am thankful to have such a wonderful mother who watches over my children with such love and care that I do not ever bat an eye lash and worry if my children are getting anything other than the very best of care throughout the day. My dad has turned out to be a much better Grandfather than I ever imagined. I am thankful for so much more this year. I really should get back to work.

Kids Say the Darndest Things

My little Natalee is always saying something that makes us laugh and this is just the latest example. John was dropping me off at the office on Friday after we had lunch together. John was on an important phone call so I waited for him to get off to hear about it. Well anyway, my lovely 3 year old yells at me, "Hey, Slow poke, Get out!!" What is wrong with that kid? I thought she loved me. Well needless to say we all just busted up laughing at her. It was so funny.
